Speak Up

Tell us if something is wrong. Confidentially, and without fear of consequences.

Why this channel exists

JST Group employs and deploys people across Thailand and Vietnam, often on our clients' sites and offshore. The people closest to a problem are usually the first to see it, and are not always the people with the authority to fix it. This channel exists so they can be heard.

It is open to everyone: our own staff, workers we employ and deploy to client sites, job applicants, suppliers, subcontractors, clients, and members of the public.

How to report

Use the form below. It reaches only a small group of senior people appointed for this purpose. It is not a general enquiry inbox, and no one else in the business has access to it.

Send a report

You do not need to give your name. Only the category and what happened are required.

If you would rather not give your name

You do not have to identify yourself. The form has an option to stay anonymous, and if you use it we have no way of knowing who you are. If you would rather not use this website at all, you can post a letter marked "Strictly Confidential — Speak Up" to our Bangkok office, where it will be opened only by that same group.

What to report

Raise anything you genuinely believe is wrong. These are the concerns we most need to hear about:

1

Payments for jobs

Anyone asking a worker or applicant for money, a fee or a share of wages in exchange for a job, a shift, a renewal or a transfer.

2

Falsified inspection or test records

Any test, inspection, measurement or certificate recorded as done when it was not, or recorded differently from what was actually found.

3

Wages, hours and documents

Unpaid or underpaid wages and overtime, unlawful deductions, or anyone holding on to a worker's passport, work permit or identity documents.

4

Bribery and improper payments

Payments, gifts or favours offered or accepted to influence a permit, an inspection, a clearance, an award of work, or any official decision.

5

Safety being overridden

Pressure to skip a procedure, to work with defective equipment, or to stay quiet about an incident or a near miss.

6

Fraud and conflicts of interest

Theft, false invoicing, kickbacks from suppliers, or an undisclosed personal interest in a business decision.

7

Harassment, discrimination and abuse

Bullying, sexual harassment, threats, physical abuse, or discrimination on any ground.

If you are unsure whether something belongs here, report it anyway. Deciding that is our job, not yours.

Everyday work matters

Day-to-day questions about your pay slip, roster, leave or contract, or a disagreement with a colleague, are usually resolved faster by your supervisor or our HR team. You are welcome to use this channel instead if you would rather not go to them. We will pass it to the right people and keep your identity to ourselves.

What happens next

1

We acknowledge it

Within three working days, if you have given us a way to reply.

2

We look into it

Anyone your report concerns is kept out of the review, however senior they are.

3

We act

Where we find something wrong we correct it, and take disciplinary or legal action where that is warranted.

4

We close it

We aim to finish within 30 days, and will tell you the outcome as far as confidentiality and the law allow.

You will not be punished for speaking up

No one who raises a concern honestly will be dismissed, demoted, transferred, have their hours or pay cut, be left off a rotation, or be treated badly in any other way because of it. This applies even if the concern turns out to be mistaken.

Retaliating against someone who has spoken up is itself a serious disciplinary matter, and is itself something you should report here.

Your personal data

Anything you send us is used only to assess and investigate your concern, and is kept no longer than we need it. We do not record your IP address. If you report anonymously we have no way to identify you, and we will not try to.

Many of the people this channel is for are on client sites or offshore, with a phone but no company email address. Print this code and put it up where they will see it — a noticeboard, a site office, a crew room. It opens this page in the same language.
