JST Group was honoured to join the Hydrographic Department Golf Tournament 2026, held in Thailand in July 2026. The tournament brought together officers of the Hydrographic Department, Royal Thai Navy (HDRTN) with partners and suppliers from across the country's maritime, defence and industrial sectors — and gave our team a full day alongside the people who keep Thailand's charts, navigation infrastructure and offshore operations running.
For JST Group, days like this are not a break from the work. They are the work. Long-cycle industrial programmes are built on trust, and trust is built face to face.
Supporting Thailand's Hydrographic and Maritime Community
The Hydrographic Department, Royal Thai Navy is Thailand's national hydrographic authority. Its surveying, charting and aids-to-navigation work underpins safe passage through Thai waters for naval vessels, commercial shipping, offshore energy support craft and fishing fleets alike.
That mission depends on the same things every demanding operation depends on: reliable equipment, assets that survive a marine environment, and skilled people supported by proper compliance. Those are precisely the areas JST Group has worked in since 1983.
Technology on Display at the JST Group Booth
Our tournament booth gave visiting officers and guests a close look at technology JST Group and its partners bring into the Thai market:
Unmanned aerial systems — a fixed-wing UAV on static display, shown alongside literature on middle-mile delivery and survey platforms. Long-endurance fixed-wing aircraft are increasingly used for coastal survey, maritime domain awareness and resupply across dispersed sites.
Resilient PNT and timing — Oscilloquartz synchronisation technology delivering robust positioning, navigation and timing from edge to core, including in extended GNSS-denied environments. For any hydrographic or naval operator, timing integrity is not a nice-to-have.
Satellite communications — a portable satcom terminal for teams working well beyond terrestrial network coverage.
Corrosion control — Cortec VpCI® technology for oil, gas and marine assets, part of JST Group's wider corrosion control and coatings capability across Southeast Asia.
ATEX and IECEx compliance — equipment certified for use in hazardous and explosive atmospheres, a requirement across offshore platforms, fuel handling and naval engineering spaces.
Personal protective and tactical equipment — protective systems for personnel operating in high-risk environments.
Solar power — off-grid power for remote installations and field deployments.
The Workforce and Compliance Layer Behind the Technology
Hardware is only half of any deployment. The other half is people, and the legal machinery that lets them work.
JST Group's HR Solutions division covers Employer of Record (EOR) and manpower services, payroll, outsourced contractor management, work permit and visa services, recruitment, training programmes and personal income tax services — allowing international principals to mobilise qualified personnel into Thailand and across Southeast Asia without establishing a local entity.
For partners supplying maritime and defence programmes in Thailand, this combination matters. One partner can supply the technology, protect the asset, and lawfully employ the team operating it.
Why Events Like This Matter
Procurement documents do not build relationships. Conversations do.
Over eighteen holes and an afternoon under the JST tent, our team spoke with serving officers, engineers and industry partners about the challenges they are actually facing — asset degradation in tropical marine conditions, GNSS reliability, survey coverage, and the perennial difficulty of getting the right specialists to the right site with the right paperwork.
Those conversations shape what JST Group brings to market next. We are grateful to the Hydrographic Department, Royal Thai Navy for the invitation to the Hydrographic Department Golf Tournament 2026, and to every guest who stopped by the booth. We look forward to many more successful collaborations.
