RCS offers a wide range of solutions to corrosion problems in a variety of industries, including oil and gas, petrochemical, water treatment, chemical, pulp, paper & pharmaceutical.

Integrated Corrosion Monitoring Systems (ICMS3™)

RCS Integrated Corrosion Systems can combine Corrosometer®, Corrater® and Microcor® corrosion data with process information. The expanded software capabilities permit the correlation of corrosion data with process or chemical parameters which facilitates a more proactive approach to corrosion management. Corrosion data communicated from remote locations can easily be combined with locally acquired data.

The Corrosion Management Computer is the heart of Rohrback Cosasco Systems' (RCS) Integrated Corrosion Monitoring System (ICMS3™). Up to 32 Corrosometer® and Corrater® Probe Interface Modules (PIM's) can be connected to the computer to acquire data from up to 128 probes. ICMS3™ network users can select which type of computer they prefer to operate the ICMS3™ software: a dedicated RCS-1 unit, and industrial PC, a desktop PC, or a portable laptop computer.

The ICMS3™ system can be customized to almost any plant layout because the network allows for a variety of input communications from the PIM's to the corrosion computer. Typically the main corrosion computer (the RCS-1 or PC running ICMS3™ software) is located in the main plant control room for the benefit of the operations staff. Communication between the main corrosion computer and the PIM's is accomplished via single or multiple RS-485 cables with a maximum length of 4,000 ft. (1,219m). For remote sections of the plant, a lease line modem system may be added to any RS-485 line to allow a link up to several miles. A lease line modem may also be used over a customer's microwave or satellite link. For example, a PIM could be located on a remote offshore platform, with the main corrosion computer at the land-based control center.

In addition, PC software (ICMS-2) is available for dial-up modem linking to the main corrosion computer to review data and download files without having to be at the main computer (e.g. an engineer at a remote location away from the plant).
