Founded in 1993 to investigate alternative sand control systems, Con-slot developed Formation Link® screens as a result of investigation into the effect of well completion methods on eventual production.

Their extensive research into the subject yielded the basic design parameters for Formation Link® screens, which were designed to work without a base pipe to maximise the flow of the completed well.

As a result of their work, open hole completion with natural gravel pack development is widely recognised as a practical and recommended method for installation and completion of wells where effective sand control is a factor.
